Face à la presse hier lundi, Rose Wardini a annoncé le retrait de sa candidature à l’élection présidentielle.
A quelques jours du début officiel de la campagne pour l’élection présidentielle du 25 février, la candidate du mouvement Sénégal nouveau, Rose Wardini, s’est rendue vendredi 2 février au soir à la Division des investigations criminelles (DIC), où elle a été placée en garde à vue.
La gynécologue est soupçonnée de posséder la double nationalité franco-sénégalaise.
Or, la Constitution indique clairement que les candidats au scrutin présidentiel doivent être exclusivement sénégalais.
« Après avoir longuement réfléchi sur la situation politique actuelle du pays et soucieuse, comme l’ensemble des citoyennes et citoyens, de la nécessité de faire tous les efforts utiles à la préservation de la paix sociale, consciente des valeurs dont je suis porteuse et auxquelles je suis profondément attachée, et qui fondent mes actions de tous les jours (…) compte tenu de ce que l’intérêt général prime sur les intérêts de chaque citoyennes et citoyens.
J’ai décidé en toute souveraineté et après large concertation avec mes compagnons du mouvement Sénégal Nouveau, de retirer ma candidature à l’élection présidentielle », a-t-elle déclaré.
A l’en croire, la paix et la stabilité de nos institutions sont primordiales, et doivent constituer le socle sur lequel sont assis notre République, notre démocratie et notre commune volonté de vie commune.
« Toutes les preuves attestant de la sincérité de sa déclaration sur l’honneur seront tenues à la disposition du juge.
C’est pourquoi j’ai décidé de renoncer aux miennes en espérant que cela facilitera la continuation du processus électoral dans un climat apaisé, et que les élections puissent se faire avant le 02 Avril 2024 », a soutenu Rose Wardini.
Avant de souligner que son engagement en politique ne fait que commencer et continuera à service avec encore plus de passion et de détermination.
