L’ambassade d’Algérie à Dakar a célébré par anticipation ce samedi, dans une ambiance festive, le 60ème anniversaire de l’indépendance nationale. En attendant le 5 juillet qui constitue la date officielle. Au niveau de la résidence de l’ambassade, située au Plateau, il y a tant de cérémonies : hymnes nationaux de l’Algérie puis du Sénégal, projection d’un documentaire sur la lutte pour l’indépendance.
Il y avait aussi le public, notamment l’Association des anciens étudiants et stagiaires sénégalais en Algérie (Aessa), bercé par les notes de kora du Baboulaye Cissokho. Face à ses invités, l’ambassadeur, Boualem Chebihi, arrivé à Dakar en décembre, a magnifié la coopération entre l’Algérie et le Sénégal, qui se traduit par une amitié prometteuse. «En 2010, l’Algérie a effacé la dette que lui devait le Sénégal contractée en 1984. Au plan scientifique, plusieurs dizaines d’étudiants sénégalais ont poursuivi leurs études universitaires en Algérie dans le cadre du programme annuel de bourses offertes au Sénégal», souligne le diplomate algérien, qui s’inscrit dans le sillage de ses 14 prédécesseurs. Ils ont tout fait, dit-il, pour solidifier les ponts d’amitié, de solidarité et de coopération entre les pays deux pays.
«Les relations entre l’Algérie et le Sénégal sont très bonnes et cordiales. Plus récemment, les deux pays ont apporté leur contribution aux efforts de promotion des intérêts de l’Afrique dans le monde. Cela s’est traduit notamment dans le cadre du Nepad», rappelle le diplomate. Par ailleurs, il insiste sur les liens spirituels «profonds» qui lient les deux pays. Il rappelle que l’Algérie est le berceau de la Tidjania, car le fondateur de la confrérie est né à Ain Madhi.
Pour la célébration du 60ème anniversaire l’indépendance de son pays, l’ambassadeur rappelle que le 5 juillet 1962 marque la fin de l’ère coloniale, le début de la bataille de l’édification nationale de son pays. Boualem Chebihi, qui couvre aussi le Cap-Vert, la Gambie et la Guinée-Bissau, rappelle que la bataille fut «rude». Mais, il y a encore plein de défis auxquels son pays fait face, dans un contexte régional et international en perpétuelle mutation. «L’Algérie indépendante, jouissant du prestige que son histoire millénaire lui apporte, est encore auréolée de son rôle diplomatique rayonnant», souligne l’ambassadeur, qui promet que les «prestations consulaires» seront à la hauteur des attentes.
