Le comité d’organisation des JOJ Dakar 2026 (COJOJ) a informé que notre compatriote Syra Sylla est la lauréate du trophée du CIO «Champions de l’égalité des genres, de la diversité et de l’inclusion » 2024 pour l’Afrique.
Une bonne nouvelle qui place le Sénégal au firmament des pays avant- gardistes sur toutes les questions relatives à l’olympisme, à la diversité et au genre.
Par ailleurs Elizabeth Pike est également lauréate du Trophée mondial du CIO “Champions de l’égalité des genres, de la diversité et de l’inclusion” 2024
La professeure Elizabeth Pike, spécialiste du sport et du genre à l’Université du Hertfordshire (Grande-Bretagne), est la lauréate du Trophée mondial “Champions de l’égalité des genres, de la diversité et de l’inclusion” décerné par le Comité International Olympique (CIO) pour l’année 2024.
À la veille de la Journée internationale des femmes, le CIO met à l’honneur Elizabeth Pike, (aux côtés de cinq lauréates continentales dont la Sénégalaise Syra Sylla) qui brisent toutes les barrières dans le cadre de la campagne.
Professeure de sport, de santé et d’exercice, Elizabeth Pike a consacré sa carrière à créer des débouchés majeurs pour les femmes dans le sport et à renforcer les capacités des femmes entraîneurs.
Alors que la parité a été atteinte pour les athlètes en lice aux Jeux Olympiques de Paris 2024, seuls 13 % des entraîneurs étaient des femmes. En tant que directrice de projets dans le cadre du programme WISH (Women in Sport High-Performance), un programme de mentorat et de formation pour les femmes entraîneurs soutenu par la Solidarité Olympique, Elizabeth Pike a contribué à lutter contre cette sous-représentation.
Quelque 120 femmes entraîneurs représentant 22 sports et 59 pays ont été diplômées du programme et ont acquis les outils nécessaires pour assumer des fonctions au plus haut niveau de leur sport.
Dix diplômées du programme WISH ont d’ailleurs occupé des postes d’entraîneurs aux Jeux de Paris 2024.
Pour Thomas Bach, le dévouement d’Elizabeth Pike à créer des débouchés majeurs pour les femmes dans le sport, notamment par le biais du programme WISH, contribue grandement à renforcer l’égalité femmes-hommes dans le sport.
Son travail a véritablement changé la vie de nombreuses femmes entraîneurs, et nous célébrons aujourd’hui ses remarquables réalisations.

Today, I went to the beach with my children. I
