Aphone depuis des mois, le khalife général des Tidiane, Serigne Babacar Sy Mansour s’est enfin prononcé sur la situation actuelle du pays marquée par des scènes de violences, depuis le report de la présidentielle de la 2024. Dans une déclaration rendue publique, le saint homme invite les acteurs politiques à la retenue pour la stabilité du pays.
«La situation politique très tendue dans notre pays et les derniers évènements qui ont fini d’emporter trois de nos fils interpellent à la fois ma conscience en tant que citoyen et ma responsabilité en tant que chef de communauté religieuse.
Je voudrais m’associer à la douleur de leurs familles à qui je présente mes condoléances les plus attristées, tout en les assurant de mes prières afin qu’ils reposent éternellement en paix», déclare le khalife général des Tidianes.
C’est à cette paix et à la retenue, ajoute Serigne Babacar Sy Mansour que j’invite tout le monde, acteurs politiques, membres de la société civile comme simples citoyens, pour préserver ce que nous avons de plus cher : notre volonté commune de vivre ensemble dans un Sénégal apaisé et réconcilié autour de tous ses enfants.
«M’adressant au Président de la République, Macky Sall, je voudrais l’inviter et l’encourager à privilégier la concertation, le dialogue inclusif et constructif avec toutes les forces vives de la Nation, pour trouver une issue heureuse dans les meilleurs délais à cette impasse, qui, si elle n’est pas dépassée, pourrait plonger notre pays dans une nuit de regrets et de désolation», souligne-t-il.
S’adressant à la classe politique, le Khalife général des Tidianes «l’exhorte à mettre le Sénégal au-dessus de ses contingences partisanes et de ses revendications quelque légitimes qu’elles puissent être et à accepter toute main tendue du Président de la République, pour n’entrevoir que l’intérêt exclusif du peuple sénégalais et la préservation du climat social, afin d’aller vers des élections apaisées et inclusives».
Selon lui, la paix de notre pays et son avenir incombent à tous.
C’est pourquoi, dit-il, j’invite également les autorités religieuses du Sénégal, sans exclusive, à toujours jouer leur rôle de censeurs pour la réconciliation des cœurs et des esprits.
«Enfin, j’invite les populations, surtout la jeunesse, dont je comprends les frustrations et les inquiétudes à garder la foi et à faire preuve de retenue.
La destruction des biens publics et la confrontation avec les forces de défense et de sécurité n’ont jamais été la solution. Vous êtes la pierre angulaire à partir de laquelle l’avenir de cette nation devra se construire.
