Bloqués pendant quatre mois sur le sol malien à cause des différends géopolitiques et diplomatiques, ils ont commencé à quitter Sévaré alors que leur mission est achevée depuis le mois d’avril. Avec la levée de l’embargo de la Cedeao et ses différentes restrictions, les autorités de la Transition ont lâché du lest permettant à plus 3500 soldats et policiers dont 850 Jambaars à rentrer chez eux, informe Le Quotidien parcouru par Senego.
Après des mois de refus, de conciliabules diplomatiques, la junte a approuvé la reprise des rotations des soldats de la Minusma. «Grand merci aux Jambaars pour le travail accompli au service de la paix et de la stabilité dans ce pays frère», salue la Mission multidimensionnelle intégrée des Nations unies pour la stabilisation au Mali (Minusma). Hier, les premiers éléments de la relève du bataillon du Sénégal basé à Sévaré dans le Centre du Mali sont aussi arrivés au Mali. Sans doute, la visite de Macky Sall à Bamako ce lundi a permis aussi d’accélérer la cadence. Sans être bien sûr plus que cordiales, les relations entre les deux pays ne sont plus aussi froides après la levée des sanctions de la Cedeao et la réouverture du corridor Dakar-Bamako…
En tout cas, c’est une première vague de 400 soldats sénégalais qui commence à arriver au Mali pour remplacer leurs frères d’armes. Ils y sont retenus depuis avril par la seule volonté de la junte, qui a déstructuré tout le processus de remplacement des troupes onusiennes.
Il faut savoir que le contingent sénégalais, qui devait prendre la relève du 10ème bataillon, est bloqué à Dakar depuis le mois d’avril. Après les massacres à Ogossagou au Centre du Mali entre 2019 et 2020, c’est ce même 10ème contingent, composé de 850 Jambaars, qui avait réussi à stabiliser la zone en faisant preuve d’«exemplarité».
Après le Colonel Théodore Adrien Sarr et ses hommes, le Colonel Mathieu Diogoye Sène et ses troupes du 11ème bataillon vont poursuivre le chemin tracé par des milliers de Jambaars, qui fréquentent les missions onusiennes depuis plusieurs décennies.
