À la suite de l’incident survenu ce matin au collège Saint Gabriel de Thiès, où l’accès a été refusé à plusieurs jeunes filles portant le voile, l’Inspecteur d’Académie de Thiès, Gana Sène, s’est exprimé devant la presse pour revenir sur cette situation.
« Ce n’est pas une affaire de religion, mais simplement un incident qui s’est produit ce matin suite à une observation de l’administration du lycée.
Une situation qui a montré que quelques élèves, notamment des filles, portaient le voile d’une manière peu adaptée, car cela cachait parfois l’insigne de l’école. Or, dans l’arrêté, il est bien précisé que le port du voile ne doit pas porter préjudice aux autres croyances, etc. », a-t-il expliqué.
Poursuivant son intervention, M. Sène a ajouté : « Sur la base de cet incident, le chef d’établissement a voulu marquer le coup en refusant l’accès non seulement aux filles concernées, mais aussi à toutes les autres élèves portant le voile. C’est peut-être là qu’on pourrait parler de maladresse, car nous n’avons pas été informés.
Il a voulu corriger cette situation en leur refusant l’accès, ce qui constitue en soi une faute, car non seulement on a un peu violé les droits des enfants, mais surtout l’administration n’a pas été saisie, même si l’intention derrière tout cela était bonne », a-t-il insisté.
L’Inspecteur d’Académie de Thiès a également indiqué que l’école s’est engagée à rectifier ces erreurs en réintégrant toutes les élèves. « Toute structure qui ne se conforme pas aux dispositions contenues dans cet arrêté s’expose à des sanctions », a-t-il averti.
