La candidature de Karim Wade vient d’être déclarée irrecevable par le Conseil constitutionnel.
Le candidat Thierno Alassane Sall avait recusé le candidat du Parti démocratique sénégalais (Pds) estimant que celui-ci détient une double nationalité. Il a fondé son recours sur les dispositions de L. 28 de la Constitution qui stipule que “tout candidat à la Présidence de la République doit être exclusivement de nationalité sénégalaise”.
Karim Wade qui a voulu apportait la preuve de la renonciation de sa nationalité depuis 2018, s’en est malheureusement pris tard. C
ar le décret portant l’effectivité de sa renonciation de la nationalité française, a été signé le 16 janvier par le premier ministre Gabriel Attal. Alors que la date limite du dépôt de candidature est fixée le 26 décembre.
