    Bon an mal an, le Sénégal avance vers la tenue de l’élection présidentielle du 25 février 2024, nonobstant la mise hors course de certaines identités remarquables se situant dans le haut du palmarès de l’opposition politique. C’est donc constater que les pratiques actuelles du système de parrainage balafrent hideusement notre démocratie.

    Souvenons-nous qu’en 2019, pour satisfaire l’objectif partagé d’organisation d’élections transparentes, le fichier électoral fut mis à la disposition de tous les candidats d’alors.

    Mis à niveau aujourd’hui, c’est ce même fichier qui s’est retrouvé entre les mains de plusieurs candidats. Si beaucoup ont pu accéder aux données personnelles des électeurs par manipulation, d’autres, parce qu’ils sont demeurés fidèles aux sacro-saints principes de la grande administration publique, se sont systématiquement détournés de telles pratiques délictueuses.

    Sinon comment expliquer que mêmes des anciens membres du gouvernement arrivés il y a moins de 5 ans, dans le quintette majeur de l’élection présidentielle, se retrouvent aujourd’hui avec les contraintes aberrantes de parrainages que nous connaissons en termes de doublons externes.

    Aussi, un ancien Chef de gouvernement dénonce-t-il depuis la semaine dernière, des actes de tricherie auprès du Conseil constitutionnel, en menaçant de porter plainte contre X.

    Nous remarquons également que le chef de gouvernement actuel, candidat comme il en est de son bon droit, se retrouve finalement grâce à son mauvais droit, le seul à se rabattre vers le parrainage des élus, alors qu’il était attendu de mobiliser plus de 3 millions de parrainages citoyens. Tout ceci fait bien désordre.

    Au surplus, une inégalité ab initio est constatée dès le départ avec le choix proposé sur les trois types de parrainage.

    Le tirage au sort remet en cause l’objectif même du parrainage qu’est la représentativité. Cette équation politico-juridique nécessite des réponses techniques et informatiques qui sont à portée de main pour ceux qui veulent réellement inscrire la trajectoire du pays sur la voie d’un Sénégal réellement démocratique.

    C’est pourquoi je demande au Chef de l’Etat, gardien de la Constitution et au Conseil constitutionnel, interprète autorisé de la Constitution, de permettre à la classe politique nationale de tenir une discussion encadrée, immédiate et imminente pour pister les incohérences et trouver des solutions idoines et durables d’une élection libre, apaisée, transparente et régulière.

    L’exigence d’un nouvel examen du système de parrainages par le Conseil constitutionnel nous parait ainsi incourtournable si nous voulons réellement renforcer l’intégrité et la sincérité de l’élection présidentielle à venir.
