Les services techniques de l’Etat et le Comité d’organisation des manifestations et activités de la Faydah (Comaf) sont à pied œuvre pour une bonne organisation de l’édition 2022 du Gamou annuel de Médina Baye, dans la commune de Kaolack (Centre), prévu le 7 octobre prochain, a constaté l’Aps. Une réunion consacrée aux préparatifs de l’événement s’est tenue mardi à Kaolack, sous la présidence du Préfet du département, Cheikh Ahmed Tidiane Thiaw, en présence du président du Comaf, Cheikh Ibrahima Mamoune Niass, et des chefs des services décentralisés de l’Etat. «La tenue de [cette réunion] est une façon, pour l’autorité administrative que nous sommes, de traduire en actes tout le respect et l’attention que mérite le foyer religieux organisateur de cet événement», a expliqué M. Thiaw.
Il s’agit d’une réunion d’harmonisation et de mutualisation de tous les moyens disponibles dans le département de Kaolack, notamment les moyens pouvant contribuer à la bonne organisation de l’événement, a-t-il précisé. Le Préfet a dit avoir demandé aux services de l’Etat concernés de prendre les mesures qu’il faut pour une «excellente organisation» du Gamou de Médina Baye, qui commémore la naissance du Prophète Mohamed.
Les représentants de la Senelec, de la Sénégalaise des eaux (Sen’Eau), du Service d’hygiène, de l’Office national de l’assainissement et des Eaux et forêts se sont engagés à soutenir le Comaf, pour une «organisation correcte» du Gamou.
La Police nationale a annoncé la mise en place de deux postes avancés, le déploiement d’un plan de circulation et le désencombrement des artères situées aux alentours de Médina Baye. La Senelec, quant à elle, s’est engagée à étendre le réseau électrique et à entretenir le réseau d’éclairage public. Elle a aussi promis 50 branchements provisoires sur des sites prévus pour l’accueil des pèlerins.
Le Directeur régional de la Sen’Eau a promis au Comité d’organisation du Gamou, 115 branchements sociaux, 234 points d’eau et 3470 mètres de linéaires d’extension du réseau hydraulique, pour une capacité de 400 mètres cubes par heure, grâce à de nouveaux investissements. Le Comaf a réclamé l’installation de 50 toilettes mobiles, que les services concernés ont promis de mettre à sa disposition. Le Service national d’hygiène, pour sa part, compte mener des activités de sensibilisation sur les mesures de prévention, de désinfection, de désinsectisation et de saupoudrage.
Le Comité d’organisation du Gamou a réclamé aussi la hausse du budget de 8 millions de francs Cfa, destiné depuis quelques années à la prise en charge médicale des pèlerins. La Brigade nationale des sapeurs-pompiers a décidé de mettre en place des ambulances à la disposition des autorités religieuses de Médina Baye.
