Une mise à jour chez Google a causé l’indisponibilité de certains services durant un petit moment. Détectée par plusieurs milliers d’utilisateurs, le site DownDetector.com a recensé ainsi beaucoup de signalements.
Google a rapidement réagi et tout est vite revenu à la normale. « Nous sommes au courant d’un problème de mise à jour de logiciel qui a eu lieu tard cet après-midi et a brièvement affecté la disponibilité de Google Search et Maps, et nous présentons nos excuses pour le désagrément », a indiqué un porte-parole de Google, contacté par l’AFP. « Nous avons travaillé rapidement pour résoudre le problème et nos services sont de nouveau en ligne », a-t-il ajouté. Plusieurs applications Google concernées « Des rapports d’usagers indiquent qu’il y a des problèmes sur Google Maps depuis 21h36 (suivant le fuseau horaire de la côte Est américaine, soit à 3h36 ce mardi matin, heure française) », a tweeté le site DownDetector dans la nuit de lundi à mardi.
Aux États-Unis, plus de 40 000 personnes ont rapporté à DownDetector que Google ne fonctionnait pas, notamment dans des grandes villes comme New York et Denver (Colorado). Ce chiffre est largement retombé dans les deux heures qui ont suivi. Des signalements ont continué d’arriver, en moins grand nombre, pour Google Cloud (informatique à distance) et Google Calendar, notamment.
