Entre la France et le Mali, les relations sont loin d’être au beau fixe. La crise entre les deux anciens alliés a même fait des dégâts dans la presse française. En effet, c’est depuis la mi-mars 2022 que les autorités maliennes ont décidé d’interdire à Radio France International (Rfi) et France24 d’émettre sur le sol malien suite à des accusations «de désinformation sur la situation».
Depuis, le président du Conseil national de régulation de l’audiovisuel (Cnra), Babacar Diagne, a décidé de jouer les bons offices pour rapprocher les parties. C’est dans ce cadre qu’une délégation de haut niveau de France Média Monde, conduite par la présidente Marie-Christine Saragosse, arrive à Dakar ce mardi 21 juin 2022, pour une visite de quelques jours au Sénégal. Dans un communiqué de presse, le Cnra informe que durant cette visite, la mission française rencontrera le président du Cnra pour évaluer la médiation entreprise par Babacar Diagne.
Ce dernier, qui assure la présidence de la Plateforme des régulateurs des pays membres de l’Uemoa et de la Guinée, s’était déjà rendu à Bamako, le 30 mai, pour «s’informer auprès des autorités maliennes sur ladite crise et entreprendre des bons offices». Babacar Diagne, qui a pu rencontrer durant son séjour le Premier ministre malien, Choguel Kokalla Maïga, et la Haute Autorité de la communication du Mali, avait à ses côtés ses homologues d’Abidjan et de Cotonou, respectivement René Bourgoin, président de la Haute Autorité de la communication audiovisuelle de la Côte d’Ivoire, et Rémi Prosper Moretti, président de la Haute Autorité de l’audiovisuel et de la communication du Bénin.
Le Mali est gouverné, depuis mai 2021, par une junte militaire qui a décidé entre autres mesures, la rupture de sa coopération militaire avec la France. Une des conséquences de cette rupture a été notamment la fin de l’opération Barkhane conduite par l’Armée française dans la lutte contre les djihadistes au Sahel.
