L’équipe du Sénégal des moins de 20 ans a battu celle du Soudan du Sud (1-0) en match comptant la première journée des Jeux Africains de Ghana. Lamine Sadio (Environnement Foot) a marqué le seul but de la partie à la 16e minute.
Initialement logés dans la poule B, composé de cinq équipes, l’équipe dirigée par Serigne Saliou Dia se retrouve désormais avec trois adversaires (Ouganda, Nigeria et Soudan du Sud) suite au désistement de la Tunisie.
La deuxième sortie des « Lionceaux » se déroulera le 11 mars contre l’Ouganda au stadium d’Accra, à partir de 17 heures.
Pour la 13e édition des Jeux Africains, la délégation sénégalaise compte pas moins de 130 membres avec au menu 12 disciplines sportives, parmi lesquelles l’athlétisme, le football U20 (garçons et filles), le beach-volley (hommes et dames), la natation, le badminton, le taekwondo, le karaté, le judo, la lutte olympique, le triathlon, le tennis de table et la boxe.
A noter que huit parmi ces disciplines sont qualificatives pour les Jo Paris 2024.
