La FIFA a dévoilé ce jeudi la liste des seize villes hôtes de la Coupe du monde 2026 aux États-Unis (11), au Canada (2) et au Mexique (3), marquant la première fois que le tournoi sera partagé par trois pays différents et disputé par 48 sélections. Il n’a pas été précisé cependant où auront lieu le match d’ouverture et la finale.
Le Mexique, déjà hôte de la Coupe du monde en 1970 et 1986, organisera des matches à Mexico, Guadalajara et Monterrey, tandis que le Canada, qui accueille l’épreuve masculine pour la première fois, le fera à Vancouver et à Toronto. Cincinnati, Denver, Nashville, Orlando, Washington DC/Baltimore et Edmonton sont les villes qui n’ont pas été retenues.
