Sur la question du troisième mandat, Ismaila Madior Fall, ex-Garde des Sceaux, avait donné une réponse catégorique affirmant que «la Constitution ne laisse place à aucune interprétation et que nul ne peut exercer plus de deux mandats consécutifs».
Depuis lors, beaucoup d’eau a coulé sous les ponts et la porte du troisième mandat que l’on croyait définitivement fermée, risque d’être rouverte avec la probable levée de la limitation des mandats.
Pour le moment, Tribune vous rafraîchit la mémoire avec ces propos d’hier remis au goût du jour. I nterpellé par la presse sur la possibilité pour le Président Macky Sall de briguer un troisième mandat, l’ancien Garde des sceaux, Ismaila Madior Fall déclarait :
«Je me rends compte que les gens ne lisent pas les textes. Si les gens continuent à dire qu’il est possible que le président fasse un troisième mandat, je me dis qu’on n’a pas lu les textes, notamment l’article 27, qui dit très clairement que nul ne peut avoir plus de deux mandats consécutifs».
La révision de la Constitution est claire. Cela veut dire que la question du troisième mandat ne se posera plus dans l’histoire du Sénégal. La Constitution ne laisse place à aucune interprétation : nul ne peut exercer plus de deux mandats consécutif», avait- répété à 3 reprises le tailleur de haute couture.

Seulement, depuis cette sortie d’Ismaïla Madior Fall et le jeu trouble de son mentor, qui, à ce jour, ne s’est pas clairement déterminé quant à sa volonté de se représenter ou pas, le tailleur haute couture semble ne plus savoir à quel modèle se fier, d’autant que celui qu’il devra (re) créer est passé de mode.
