Compositrice wolof, Agsila, a présenté samedi dernier, son troisième album «Bët set na». Face à la mer et sous la menace des nuages noirs, ils étaient une vingtaine d’artistes sur scène à chanter du gospel, dans le village lébou de Yène. Agsila était accompagnée du groupe Echo de Dakar, de la chorale de Thiès et d’Anto de Saint-Louis, pour un spectacle lumineux.
Avec les titres de sa dernière production, la chanteuse de gospel, Agsila, a illuminé la scène de Yène. Avec une prestation à la hauteur, elle a revisité les titres de son troisième album Bët set na pour égayer le public de Yène, qui a fait le déplacement. «Ce projet m’a été divinement inspirée, il y a peu de temps, après le décès de mon père. Son départ a participé à mon éveil spirituel», s’explique Agsila, en hommage pour son choix pour le gospel. Elle enchaîne ensuite ses titres pendant plus de deux (2) heures, entrecoupés des chansons de ses invités. Doomi leer parle de la présence de l’esprit saint dans notre vie. Elle dit : «On n’allume pas une lampe pour la mettre sous une calebasse, mais on la met sur le pied pour qu’elle éclaire toute la maison.» Dans un mbalax doux Nonous, elle incite à éclairer et à aider les autres.
Yeesoo ngi dellusi… est une chanson de réveil car, explique-t-elle, chrétiens comme musulmans, nous croyons au retour du Messie. «Le Messie nous a toujours incités à être prêts pour ce jour, à préparer les cœurs», a relevé Agsila.
Ensuite, le titre Séetoo-séet est une chanson de mariage. «Elle est imagée, car elle parle de Insa ; il comparaît l’assemblée des croyants à une épouse, car une épouse se prépare avec soin pour le jour de son mariage, symbolisé par le retour du Messie. Les temps sont spéciaux, mais le challenge est de garder une vie vertueuse et honnête.»La soirée s’est poursuivie avec Turam am na doole. Le public reprenait le refrain comme le tube de la soirée. Cette chanson reggae a un avenir certain au Sénégal comme un slogan populaire. «Turam est mon propre témoignage. A un certain moment de ma vie personnelle, j’ai vécu une crise mystique et j’ai vécu des visions. Cela a complétement changé ma vie», a révélé l’artiste.
Le gospel sénégalais garde ses tendances afro-américaines du négro spirituel, avec des variantes de chœurs parfois de l’Afrique centrale ou des pays francophones. Le défi de cet album Bët set na est d’apporter des harmonies classiques wolofs pour un nouveau type de gospel sénégalais. Gospel voulant dire «la bonne nouvelle», cela permet de le réviser avec la culture nationale et la langue wolof.
Avec ce nouvel album Bët set na, la compositrice wolof, Agsila, renouvelle le style gospel et s’affirme sur la scène sénégalaise.
