Sur son compte Facebook, elle a révélé que « le patrouilleur de haute mer (PHM) NIANI avait arraisonné une pirogue transportant 111 migrants, à 140 kilomètres au large de Dakar, la veille au soir. Parmi les passagers, on dénombre 62 Sénégalais, 22 Gambiens et 20 Guinéens. »
Cette annonce intervient dans un contexte où l’émigration clandestine continue de représenter un défi majeur pour les pays de l’Afrique de l’Ouest.
Les départs périlleux sur des embarcations de fortune, souvent surchargées, mettent en danger la vie des migrants, désespérés de trouver de meilleures opportunités économiques en Europe.
