Après sa prise du pouvoir en 2012, le Président Macky Sall bénéficie d’un état de grâce pour au moins une année. Quelque temps après cette période de répit, les populations commencent à rouspéter, en brandissant le slogan ” deuk bi dafa Macky” (Le pays va mal).
Pour se protéger des récriminations des populations et se prémunir des attaques de l’opposition, les tenants du pouvoir soulèvent la gestion calamiteuse du régime de Abdoulaye Wade qui est selon eux, à l’origine de tous les maux dont souffrent les Sénégalais.
Cette accusation est un prétexte pour des poursuites judiciaires contre certains caciques du Parti démocratique sénégalais (PDS), dont le fils de l’ancien Président Abdoulaye Wade, Karim Wade. Macky Sall jette ainsi une grosse pierre dans le jardin de Abdoulaye Wade.
Le Sénégal s’installe dans une ambiance de règlement de compte politique avec la fameuse ” traque des biens mal acquis”. Le Président Macky Sall monte au créneau et dit dans son adresse à la nation du mois d’avril 2013: ” Ma première mission n’est pas de construire des routes, autoroutes et ponts, mais de reconstruire l’Etat de droit.
Or l’Etat de droit, ce sont des valeurs, des principes; c’est l’égalité des citoyens devant la loi, la lutte farouche contre la corruption…”. Le discours assez robuste du Président Macky Sall contre le régime de son prédécesseur au pouvoir Abdoulaye Wade pousse beaucoup de gens à prendre la réddition des comptes comme une demande sociale.
Les premières mesures d’assainissement des ressources publiques qui sont prises par le Président Macky Sall font tilt dans la tête de beaucoup de Sénégalais.
C’est dans le cadre de cette initiative qu’il faut mettre la dissolution de plusieurs Directions et Agences, et la remise en cause du décret numéro 2012-301 du 23 février 2012 qui porte sur l’approbation de la Convention de concession entre l’Etat du Sénégal et la socièté MTL Infrastructures et Services SA pour l’établissement et l’exploitation d’infrastructures de Télécommunications.
La Cour de répression de l’enrichissement illicite (CREI) est remise au goût du jour, et Karim Wade sera le premier inculpé, avant sa condamnation par cette juridiction d’exception le 23 mars 2015.
Karim wade est alors arrêté et acheminé à la prison de Reubeuss en avril 2013. Il est reproché au fils de Abdoulaye Wade le fait de subtiliser des caisses de l’Etat 694 milliards de FCA.
Le camp du PDS crie au scandale, parle de chasse aux sorcières et de tentative de diabolisation de Abdoulaye Wade, de sa famille biologique et de sa famille politique. Le 21 novembre 2014 Abdoulaye Wade, le père de Karim Wade tient un meeting à la place de l’obélisque où il parle pour la première fois de l’affaire Petrotim et Arcelor Mittal.
Il interpelle directement le Président Macky Sall, pour qu’il apporte dans un délai de trois jours, des réponses à ces gravissimes accusations. Le dossier Petrotim qui n’attire pas encore l’attention des journalistes et de beaucoup de Sénégalais devient le cheval de bataille de l’ancien Président Abdoulaye Wade contre le régime de Macky Sall.
L’objectif de Abdoulaye Wade, en bon politicien, est de pousser les Sénégalais à faire le parrallélisme entre le cas Aliou Sall, le frère de Macky Sall et celui de son fils Karim Wade, qui est sous poursuite judiciaire pour cause de népotisme et d’enrichissement illicite.
