A l’occasion d’un forum de sensibilisation et d’information sur les grossesses et mariages précoces, organisé par un consortium d’organisations dirigé par l’association Zone sud Pakao, en collaboration avec le projet Vlf, le Service régional de l’Action éducative en milieu ouvert (Aemo) a tiré la sonnette d’alarme en montrant que 20 mariages et 50 grossesses précoces ont été recensés dans la région.
Pour faire face à cette situation, les acteurs ont soulevé le manque de centres d’accueil dans la région de Sédhiou pour prendre en charge les personnes touchées par ces pratiques.
En dépit de la persistance des mariages et grossesses précoces, les structures de prise en charge des victimes sont presque inexistantes.
Dans la zone sud, seule la région de Ziguinchor dispose d’une Maison d’accueil des victimes de violences basées sur le genre. Et sa capacité est très limitée par rapport au nombre de personnes touchées dans les régions de Ziguinchor, Kolda et Sédhiou.
Idrissa Sambou, coordonnateur de l’Action éducative en milieu ouvert (Aemo), ne cache pas la réalité des choses : «Dans la région naturelle de la Casamance, il n’y a que Ziguinchor qui dispose d’un centre de premier accueil, une structure du ministre de la Justice, et aussi il y a Enda Santé, qui est une structure privée, qui relaye vraiment le centre de premier accueil qui a une capacité très limitée pour accueillir toutes les mineures victimes de violences basées sur le genre des trois régions naturelles de la Casamance.
A Ziguinchor, la capacité d’accueil du centre est limitée à 20 mineures pour toutes les trois régions de la Casamance.
C’est pourquoi nous sollicitons la construction d’un centre multifonctionnel.»
Ces révélations sont faites en marge d’un forum de sensibilisation et d’information initié par un consortium de plusieurs organisations des régions de Sédhiou et de Kolda, accompagnées par le projet Voix leadership du Sénégal (Vlf).
Kéba Konté, président de l’association Zone sud Pakao, qui dirige ce consortium, tire aussi la sonnette d’alarme : «A nos yeux, les régions de Sédhiou et Kolda traversent les mêmes difficultés, pour ne pas dire le Pakao-Fouladou. Les réalités socio-culturelles du Pakao-Fouladou font que les mariages et grossesses précoces sont tellement nombreux que nous avons jugé nécessaire de conjuguer nos efforts pour lutter contre ces situations.
C’est pourquoi nous sommes allés vers le partenaire Vlf Sénégal, qui a accepté de nous accompagner et de financer notre projet.»
La tenue de ce forum intervient dans un contexte où le taux de mariages et de grossesses précoces grimpe dans la région alors que 20 mariages et 50 grossesses précoces y ont été recensés ces derniers temps.
Aujourd’hui, la majorité des mineures suivies au centre de Ziguinchor proviennent de la région de Sédhiou, surtout du département de Goudomp où les chiffres sont alarmants, selon l’Aemo. Plus de 200 femmes ont assisté à cette rencontre d’échanges, montrant l’importance de cette question.
