L’Office des forages ruraux (Ofor) a mis en place un dispositif destiné à atténuer les difficultés d’approvisionnement en eau des populations lors du Grand Magal de Touba, a assuré mercredi, son Directeur général, Alpha Bayla Guèye. «Ce dispositif porte sur la mobilisation de techniciens qualifiés, de citernes d’eau, de bâches d’eau ou encore la mise en service de quatre nouveaux forages dans la ville sainte de Touba», a-t-il indiqué lors d’un entretien avec l’Aps. «Cette année, a-t-il ajouté, l’Etat a augmenté la production journalière d’eau de la ville de Touba grâce à l’implantation de quatre nouveaux forages.»
M. Guèye a fait savoir que «ces quatre nouveaux forages sont mis en service avec une production supplémentaire journalière de 14 000 mètres cubes». «A cette production journalière, s’ajoute le remplissage par nos équipes, de réservoirs d’eau d’une capacité de 16 000 mètres cubes», a-t-il dit.
Le Dg de l’Ofor a aussi évoqué «le remplissage de huit des plus grands châteaux d’eau de la ville sainte avec une production journalière de 5740 mètres cubes par jour».
Il a souligné qu’à titre de précaution, les populations sont en train de remplir leurs réservoirs d’eau. Il a indiqué que de son côté, l’Ofor a mobilisé une trentaine de camions pour assurer l’approvisionnement en eau des maisons, des quartiers. La structure, selon lui, a aussi pré-positionné 120 camions citernes remplis d’eau sur toutes ses bases avancées, mais également près des zones de tension de Touba. «Au plan des ressources humaines techniques, l’Ofor a mobilisé 60 agents dont des ingénieurs», a-t-il signalé.
Il dit avoir sur le terrain, six équipes de maintenance réparties sur tous les périmètres de forages de la ville sainte du matin au soir. «La capacité journalière de production en eau de Touba va s’accroître d’ici à la célébration du Magal en passant de 125 millions à 140 millions de litres», avait récemment déclaré le ministre de l’Eau et de l’assainissement, Serigne Mbaye Thiam. «Cette année, nous avons dans le parc de production en eau de Touba, 14 millions de mètres cubes de plus grâce à l’implantation de quatre nouveaux forages», avait-t-il dit à des journalistes lors de sa visite effectuée dans la cité religieuse de Touba en prélude au Magal.
