En recevant Jean-Luc Melenchon le chef de file des « Insoumis », le leader de Pastef était très à l’aise pour se prononcer sur les questions souverainistes de sa formation politique. Entre autres sujets brûlants, Ousmane SONKO a confirmé tout le mal qu’il pense de la présence militaire française en Afrique plus de 60 ans après les indépendances.
Alors que le Mali, le Niger et le Burkina Faso ont mis un terme à la présence militaire de l’ancienne puissance colonisatrice, des pays comme le Sénégal, la Côte d’Ivoire, le Gabon, etc continuent d’héberger des bases de l’armée française.
D’où l’intervention du leader de Pastef et actuel Premier ministre du Sénégal, Ousmane Sonko, de soulever la possibilité de fermer les bases militaires françaises dans son pays.
Ousmane SONKO qui animait une conférence conjointe avec Jean-Luc Melenchon dans la capitale sénégalaise, Dakar, s’est demandé pourquoi le Sénégal avait encore plusieurs bases françaises, plus de 60 ans après l’indépendance. M. Sonko a remis en question l’impact de la présence militaire française sur la souveraineté du pays.
« Je réitère ici le désir du Sénégal d’avoir son propre contrôle, ce qui est incompatible avec la présence durable de bases militaires étrangères au Sénégal », a déclaré le leader de Pastef devant son invité français Jean-Luc Melenchon.
Ousmane SONKO a promis de renforcer les liens avec le Mali, le Burkina Faso et le Niger qui ont expulsé les troupes françaises et se sont tournés vers la Russie pour obtenir de l’aide dans la lutte contre les insurrections djihadistes.
Pour rappel, la France compte environ 350 soldats au Sénégal installés entre la base navale et aérienne.
M. Sonko, un homme politique qui a été à de l’opposition radicale au président Macky SALL, a été nommé Premier ministre par son protégé, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, qui a été élu président en mars dernier.
