Le Comité scientifique des Assises des médias du Sénégal a reçu les conclusions des six (6) commissions qui ont pris en compte, dans leurs travaux, l’ensemble des problématiques qui affectent le secteur des médias au Sénégal.
Ces conclusions restituées, le samedi 13 janvier 2024, à la Maison de la Presse Babacar Touré, ont été, selon Mactar Sylla, co-président du Comité scientifique, le fruit d’un travail inclusif, avec une contribution très significative de beaucoup d’organisations, des individualités, des experts, soucieux de la place des médias et du rôle des médias dans notre société.
«L’une des choses essentielles qu’il faut retenir, c’est que pendant des mois, depuis le lancement au mois d’août dernier, un travail en profondeur extrêmement sérieux (a été fait), mais également un travail inclusif.
Ce ne sont pas seulement des professionnels des médias qui se sont réunis entre eux pour redéfinir le rôle des médias, la place des médias et les enjeux du futur des médias, mais ce sont beaucoup d’autres organisations, des individualités, des experts, des Sénégalais soucieux effectivement de la place des médias, du rôle des médias dans notre société, qui ont donné leur participation et leur contribution très significatives à ce travail», a souligné, Mactar Sylla, co-président du Comité scientifique des Assises des médias du Sénégal, lors de la restitution des travaux des six (6) commissions mises en place dans le cadre de ces assises, le samedi 13 janvier 2024, à la Maison de la Presse Babacar Touré.
Remerciant ces six commissions pour avoir pris en compte les problématiques qui gangrènent le secteur aujourd’hui et les pertinentes recommandations formulées en ce sens, M. Sylla estime qu’«Il nous faudra, à ce stade, en tant que Comité scientifique, les synthétiser, les rationaliser, pour en faire un véritable corpus qui puisse servir à ce pays, à ses médias et de projeter dans les prochaines générations, dans les 20, 25 prochaines années».
CREER UN VERITABLE ECOSYSTEME MEDIATIQUE
Il s’agira, en ce sens, de savoir, selon-lui, «Que voulons-nous que les médias soient dans un pays comme le Sénégal ? Quel rôle et quelle place les médias doivent jouer du point de vue de l’information, du point de vue du statut des personnels, du point de vue de la valorisation de la profession, du point de vue effectivement de la place économique, au-delà du rôle transversal que jouent les médias ?
Que doivent être les médias en termes de plus-value sociale, politique, économique et culturelle ?»
Autant d’interrogations que le président le co-président du Comité scientifique des Assises des médias du Sénégal, par ailleurs, PDG du Groupe Label Médias Plus, a soulevées.
Optimiste quant aux conclusions qui seront issues de ces Assises, le PDG du Groupe Label Médias Plus d’assurer : «Je pense que nous aurons véritablement des réponses. Nous aurons des recommandations qui seront validées dans une autre étape, après le rapport que Cheikh Thiam, nous produira».
«Et, au terme de cet exercice, nous allons le soumettre à un ensemble de candidats à la présidentielle, mais également à tous les secteurs de la vie nationale, pour que nous ayons une compréhension commune de ce que nous voulons faire de ce domaine qui est un domaine capital dans la vie de toute nation qui est aujourd’hui affecté par des difficultés», a-t-il rassuré.
Non sans toutefois réitérer sa confiance.
«Nous restons positif, nous restons optimistes, en sachant qu’aujourd’hui, aucune nation ne peut prospérer sans avoir des médias dynamiques, des médias viables, des médias où il y a des compétences, des médias où la formation, où delà du diplôme qu’on peut avoir en temps T, doivent être renforcées».

En définitive, estime M. Sylla, «il faut créer un véritable écosystème médiatique. Un écosystème médiatique, cela veut dire la manière dont nous tous faisons des contenus. Est-ce que c’est comme ça qu’il faut continuer ?
