En marge de la deuxième édition de sa Conférence internationale sur la lutte contre la corruption dans le sport en Afrique, l’Union des Confédérations sportives africaines (UCSA) a organisé son gala et a désigné plusieurs titres. Pour celui de meilleur sportif masculin de l’année, le Sénégalais Sadio Mané a été primé.
Une distinction qui s’explique certainement par les performances de Sadio Mané avec l’équipe du Sénégal et l’équipe saoudienne d’Al-Nassr puisque la saison dernière a été difficile pour le Sénégalais avec le Bayern Munich.
A noter également que la sénégalaise Fatma Samoura, ancienne Secrétaire générale de la FIFA, a été désignée Meilleure figure sportive féminine en Afrique. Pour la meilleure sportive de l’année, la tunisienne et tenniswomen, Ons Jaber, a été primée.
