En ce moment, les détenus de la chambre 6 de la prison de Saint Louis sont en grève de la faim. Le motif de la grève est la mort d’un concitoyen détenu ( habitant de Fouta ), aujourd’hui à 5h du matin, renseigne un communiqué de FRAPP.
Pour rappel, cette chambre compte environ 117 détenus dont 05 seulement sont condamnés.
En plus de la nourriture “discutable” qui leur est servie, les prisonniers de la prison de Saint Louis tombent souvent malades.
Comment éviter ces décès quand quelque soit la maladie, les détenus n’ont qu’un seul médicament pour se soigner ? Au moment où nous rendons public ce communiqué, la chambre 3 un autre concitoyen détenu est gravement malade.
Le FRAPP présente ses condoléances à la famille du défunt et interpelle l’administration pénitentiaire et le gouvernement du Sénégal.
Le FRAPP exige du directeur de l’administration pénitentiaire et du ministère de la justice une solution immédiate aux problèmes de santé des prisonniers dans les 37 prisons du Sénégal et dénonce encore avec vigueur les longues détentions préventives.
