Au Sénégal, un projet dédié à la formation-apprentissage aux nouveaux métiers et à l’insertion professionnelle des jeunes de la Langue de Barbarie, recasés au quartier de Djougob à Saint-Louis a été officiellement lancé, mardi 6 août 2024.
Le Centre de formation professionnelle a abrité la cérémonie officielle de lancement de cette initiative financée dans le cadre de la mise en œuvre du Projet de relèvement d’urgence et de résilience à Saint-Louis (SERRP) en collaboration avec l’Agence pour le développement municipal (ADM).
Si l’on se fie aux initiateurs de ce projet, ses bénéficiaires sont essentiellement des jeunes de la Langue de Barbarie dont les familles ont été recasées à Djougob et ses faubourgs en raison de l’avancée de la mer et des inondations de 2017.
Au cours de son speech, la directrice du Centre de formation professionnelle de Saint-Louis, Rokhaya Samb Sarr, a invité les bénéficiaires à faire preuve de sacrifice et à suivre de façon assidue les cours qui seront dispensés les cinq prochains mois, signalant que les formations seront délivrées dans les domaines de l’horticulture, la coiffure, la couture, la pâtisserie et la gestion des déchets.
De son côté, l’inspecteur d’académie de Saint-Louis, Mafall Der, a abondé dans le même sens tout en demandant aux jeunes de se donner les chances de tourner le dos à l’émigration clandestine.
