Les infractions liées à la coupe illicite et au trafic de bois ont enregistré une baisse à Kolda (Sud), passant notamment de 450 procès-verbaux en 2020 à 359 en 2021, et actuellement 217, a révélé vendredi l’Inspecteur régional des Eaux et forêts de Kolda, le Lieutenant-colonel Mamadou Goudiaby.
«De 450 procès-verbaux en 2020, la situation des infractions est passée de 359 Pv en 2021, puis à 217 Pv cette année», a-t-il déclaré à l’Aps lors de la célébration dans cette partie sud du pays, de la 39e Journée de l’arbre. Lors de la manifestation organisée à Fafacourou, une localité du département de Médina Yoro Foula, le Lieutenant-colonel Goudiaby a expliqué que ce résultat était le fruit d’un travail de terrain mené en collaboration avec l’ensemble des Forces de défense et de sécurité.
Il a loué les efforts de l’Etat en termes de recrutement de nouveaux agents des Eaux et forêts dans le cadre du programme «Xeyu ndaw ñi». «Le recrutement de ces jeunes est d’un grand apport dans la lutte et la sensibilisation contre les feux de brousse et la dénonciation des délinquants forestiers entre autres», a-t-il salué.
