Deux pêcheurs originaires de Saré Demba Modou, commune de Médina Shérif, dans le département de Kolda, ont été abattus par balle par des présumés voleurs de poissons. Le drame est survenu dans la nuit de lundi à mardi.
En effet depuis quelques temps les deux pêcheurs ont découvert que des personnes mal intentionnées écument leurs filets à leur insu et emportent toute la prise. Le préjudice a tellement affecté les activités économiques des victimes qu’elles ont décidé de tendre un piège, la nuit dernière, dans l’espoir d’identifier les voleurs et les prendre en flagrant délit.
Malheureusement, le guet-à-pent a mal tourné quand les présumés voleurs de poisson ont eu vent du plan ourdi par les victimes, une fois sur les lieux. Une bataille a éclaté, ensuite une fusillade au cours de laquelle les deux pêcheurs ont été mortellement atteint par balle.
Les présumés assassins sont pour le moment introuvables et l’enquête suit son cours.
En cette période de l’année, le fleuve Kanyanga reste très poissonneuse, mais pas assez de place pour tout le monde.
