L’Association des Maires du Sénégal (AMS) condamne avec énergie les actes de violence et de vandalisme survenus à Yeumbeul-Sud qui se sont traduit par le saccage des locaux de la l’Hôtel de Ville.
Rien ne peut justifier ou expliquer de tels actes. L’institution que constitue une mairie est un lieu public, gardien d’archives et de registres qui concernent la vie des citoyens de la commune. Elle doit être protégée et préservée de certaines dérives irresponsables et anticiviques
L’AMS regrette ce qui s’est passé et exprime sa solidarité au Maire Modou Bara GAYE, à son Conseil municipal et aux populations de Yeumbeul-Sud pour les dommages subis, et invite les autorités compétentes à diligenter une enquête pour engager les poursuites policières et judiciaires nécessaires à l’encontre des auteurs de tels actes
