La ville de Kolda sera l’invitée d’honneur de la neuvième édition des Rencontres sur le fleuve, une croisière littéraire et artistique prévue du 3 au 10 décembre prochain, sur le thème Ecologie et transmission, a annoncé, mardi, l’initiatrice de l’évènement, l’écrivaine Sokhna Benga. «Kolda est la ville invitée d’honneur après Louga, Thiès, Fatick, Bignona et Kaolack. A ce titre, elle désignera son parrain», peut-on lire dans un communiqué reçu à l’Aps. La cérémonie de lancement des Rencontres sur le fleuve est prévue le 29 octobre à Kolda, où va aussi démarrer un grand jeu concours pour les scolaires, sur le thème général Ecologie et transmission, a signalé l’écrivaine.
Elle souligne que le jeu concours réservé aux scolaires sera élargi à la ville de Saint-Louis. Au cours du même mois d’octobre, la région de Dakar va lancer un jeu concours radio sur les écrivains, artistes et participants.
Les organisateurs remettront des cadeaux aux meilleurs élèves de la région de Kolda, ainsi qu’aux différents enseignants. Ils distribueront en outre des bourses scolaires et sociales. Le programme annoncé par les promoteurs met en vedette la croisière, une activité phare de ces rencontres sur le fleuve Sénégal, prévues du 3 au 10 décembre à Podor et Saint-Louis. Les participants visiteront ces deux villes à bord du mythique bateau Bou El Mogdad. Des activités telles que des ateliers d’écriture, des performances artistiques, des projections de films, des visites du patrimoine, ainsi que des conférences et discussions autour du thème central sont prévues sur le bateau, qui fera des escales à Dagana et Richard-Toll.
Les parrains de cette 9e édition sont les professeurs Andrée Marie Diagne et Mamoussé Diagne et ceux du thème retenu, les écologistes Woré Gana Seck et Ali Haïdar (ancien ministre de l’Environnement). Pour Saint-Louis, soulignent les organisateurs, Almamy Mateuw Fall a été choisi comme parrain, en remplacement de l’égérie de la ville, la comédienne Marie Madeleine Diallo.
L’idée des Rencontres sur le fleuve est née d’un roman et d’un rêve, a rappelé Sokhna Benga. «Pour Jean-Jacques Bancal, propriétaire du bateau, et moi, nous voulions rendre accessibles aux populations installées sur le fleuve, les merveilles des lettres et des arts, à travers une croisière artistique et littéraire», a-t-elle expliqué. Cette traversée du fleuve à bord du bateau Bou El Mogdad, permet d’amener des artistes de renom dans des lieux de mémoire et de culture. Selon ses promoteurs, ces rencontres visent à créer une passerelle entre créateurs et populations autour d’un idéal de partage d’expérience, une nouvelle plateforme d’expression de tous les arts sans distinction. Faisant le bilan de cet évènement biennal lancé en 2006,
Sokhna Benga souligne que les résultats sont «tangibles». Il a permis, dit-elle, de réaliser «d’importants dons en matériels scolaires et médicaux, d’habits et d’offrir des formations aux femmes dans les domaines du micro-jardinage, de la fabrication du savon et de l’eau de javel». «Il y a eu des journées médicales gratuites sur le dépistage de l’insuffisance rénale, du cancer du col de l’utérus et le lancement d’actions citoyennes», déclare-t-elle encore.
