Le ministre du Commerce, de la Consommation et des Petites et moyennes entreprises (PME), Abdou Karim Fofana, a invité, mardi, le secteur privé à proposer un modèle de construction de marchés modernes au Sénégal.
‘’C’est un appel que je lance au secteur privé, car il n’appartient pas à l’Etat de construire des marchés mais plutôt, dans une collaboration avec le secteur privé, de créer les conditions afin que nos marchés puissent être modernisés’’, a-t-il déclaré.
M. Fofana intervenait lors de l’assemblée générale spéciale élargie aux commissions techniques de la Chambre de Commerce, d’Industrie et d’Agriculture de Dakar.
‘’Nous devons avoir une réflexion avec les Chambres de commerce d’abord, à l’avant-garde de ce secteur, proposer des modèles de marchés au gouvernement du Sénégal, procéder au financement avec l’Etat, dans le cadre d’un partenariat public-privé’’, a-t-il notamment préconisé.
Le ministre a rappelé »l’importance d’avoir un programme de modernisation et d’investir non seulement dans le marché mais aussi, dans les équipements marchands, pour être plus rentables ».
‘’Cela, pour procéder ainsi à la commercialisation, à la sécurisation et permettre aux commerçants de pouvoir avoir un espace où mener leurs activités’’, a fait valoir Abdou Karim Fofana
Pour lui, »le plus important, c’est la rénovation et la modernisation du marché, pour éviter les incendies que les marchés du pays connaissent chaque mois, à cause de leur état vétuste ».
