En marge du point de presse, Barthélémy Dias est revenu sur une éventuelle confirmation de la condamnation de la Cour d’appel, par la Cour suprême. Le maire de Dakar y voit une manœuvre pour “invalider le parrainage parlementaire de Khalifa Sall”.
“Même si je suis condamné, je garde mon poste de maire de Dakar. Je ne bougerai pas d’ici. Pour le poste de député à l’Assemblée nationale, je dénonce cette volonté de vouloir remettre en cause le parrainage de Khalifa Sall. Taxawu Sénégal a 14 députés, et nous avons besoin de 13 députés. Mais des manœuvres pour débaucher des députés sont en cours.
Ne soyez pas surpris de voir des députés parrainer un autre candidat », a dit le maire de Dakar.
Barthélemy Dias souligne “cette volonté de l’Etat du Sénégal à anéantir les chances de Khalifa Sall à être candidat à la prochaine élection présidentielle”.
L’édile de Dakar soupçonne également qu’on veuille faire main basse sur son fauteuil de maire, mais sur ce point il est catégorique : “Si la Cour confirme le verdict de la Cour d’appel, j’épuise toutes mes voies de recours. Mais je garde le poste de maire de Dakar. Il y a des gens qui n’attendent que je le perde. Je ne bougerai pas d’ici”.
Pour rappel, Barthélémy Dias sera fixé sur son sort le 22 décembre prochain à propos de la mort de Ndiaga Diouf, du nom du nervi tué par balle devant la mairie de Mermoz-Sacré-cœur en 2011.
À la suite de sa condamnation par la Cour d’appel à 2 ans de prison dont 6 mois ferme, Barthélémy Dias a contesté en faisant par un pourvoi à la Cour suprême. Ce recours sera vidé le 22 décembre 2023.
