Le Président de la République Macky Sall a choisi Amadou Ba pour être le candidat de Benno Bokk Yaakaar à l’élection présidentielle de 2024. Comme l’indique la Constitution, Macky Sall ne peut pas être candidat à un troisième mandat constitutif. Cependant le choix fait par le Chef de l’Etat sur Amadou Ba pour être son dauphin a été loin d’être facile.
C’est choix dans la douleur. Aussitôt qu’Amadou Ba a été choisi, le maire de la Commune de Linguère Aly Ngouille Ndiaye a préféré démissionner du gouvernement où il était ministre de l’Agriculture. Plutôt que de s’aligner derrière Amadou Ba, Aly Ngouille Ndiaye a préféré lui aussi déposer sa candidature à l’élection présidentielle de 2024.
Aly Ngouille Ndiaye n’est pas le seul membre de la mouvance présidentielle à choisir de s’opposer au choix du Chef de l’Etat et à déposer sa candidature.
L’ancien Premier ministre Mahammed Boun Abdallah Dionne qui fut le directeur de campagne du Chef de l’Etat Macky Sall en 2019 et qui avait été la tête de liste de Benno Bokk Yaakaar aux élections législatives de 2017, a préféré lui aussi déposer sa candidature en 2024.
Tout comme le maire de Kolda Mame Boye Diao, lui aussi candidat en février 2024. Ce qui a conduit à son limogeage de son poste de Directeur général de la Caisse des dépôts et consignations (CDC).
Macky Sall n’avait jamais subi autant de désaveux provenant des rangs de son parti, l’Alliance pour la République (APR). Contre vents et marées, il a choisi de faire d’Amadou Ba, le candidat de Benno Bokk Yaakaar à l’élection présidentielle de février 2024. Macky Sall ne s’en est pas limité uniquement à cela.
Il a déclaré lui-même qu’il allait s’impliquer physiquement dans la prochaine campagne à l’élection présidentielle. Macky Sall entend accompagner Amadou Ba en battant campagne pour lui.
Macky Sall veut donc tout faire pour offrir à Amadou Ba les clefs de la victoire en 2024. Toutefois, il est fort de constater que Macky Sall fait des efforts alors que celui qu’il a désigné comme candidat de Benno Bokk Yaakaar à l’élection présidentielle de 2024 ne fait rien pour s’imposer sur la scène politique.
Amadou Ba donne même raison pour le moment à ceux qui au sein de la mouvance présidentielle ont préféré désavouer le Chef de l’Etat en déposant leur propre candidature.
Nombreux sont les observateurs à penser qu’Amadou Ba doit rectifier le tir pendant qu’il est temps en démontrant à l’opinion qu’il n’est pas simplement le candidat désigné par le Chef de l’Etat Macky Sall, mais qu’il mérite de l’être car ayant la confiance du peuple sénégalais. Macky Sall ne mérite certainement pas cela. Il veut un homme qui se bat pour avoir la confiance des Sénégalais.
Amadou Ba se veut trop dépendant de Macky Sall. Ce qui n’est pas la bonne option pour lui. Il doit lui-même se révéler devant les Sénégalais pour montrer qu’il a les atouts nécessaires pour être le prochain Président de la République du Sénégal.
Certes, avoir l’onction de Macky Salle peut lui valoir des atouts, mais ce sera à lui de poser les actes qui pourront convaincre les Sénégalais.
Amadou Ba est certes un grand serviteur de l’Etat. Inspecteur des Impôts et Domaines, il fut directeur des impôts, avant d’être Directeur général des Impôts et Domaines, ministre de l’Economie et des Finances, ministre des Affaires étrangères et maintenant Premier ministre.
Il a tout ce qu’il faut donc pour convaincre les Sénégalais à voter massivement pour lui en février 2024, mais il lui faut faire les efforts nécessaires pour conquérir définitivement l’électorat. Amadou Ba ne doit pas compter uniquement sur l’implication de Macky Sall pour son élection en 2024.
