Anne Cécile Robert a remplacé Madiambal Diagne à la tête de l’Union de la presse francophone (Upf). Si le Sénégalais s’est évertué à redorer le blason de cette organisation, son successeur dit s’inscrire dans la continuité. Elle l’a fait savoir hier lors de la cérémonie d’ouverture des 49èmes Assises internationales.
C’est désormais officiel ! L’Union de la presse francophone (Upf) est dirigée par une femme. Anne Cécile Robert a été officiellement installée dans ses nouvelles fonctions de présidente de l’Upf lors de la cérémonie d’ouverture des 49èmes Assises internationales de la presse francophone à Benguerir au Maroc. Si l’équipe sortante a été félicitée pour avoir repositionné l’Upf dans une dynamique de renouveau avec le retour des partenaires internationaux, Anne Cécile Robert compte poursuivre le chemin tracé par Madiambal.
«Je vais essayer de faire vivre les grandes missions de l’Upf. Nous allons continuer à défendre la liberté de la presse et la liberté d’expression. Nous allons aussi défendre la langue française d’une manière dynamique, ouverte, pas défensive en étant claire sur les principes et fraternelle avec l’ensemble de la profession. L’objectif est de faire de l’Upf le lien et le lieu de tous les journalistes pour échanger et s’aider mutuellement. On veut faire vivre cette diversité culturelle linguistique qui nous caractérise», a expliqué Anne Cécile Robert tout juste après le discours de Madiambal Diagne, le président sortant.
Celui-ci qui aura inscrit le Sénégal dans «l’histoire de l’Upf d’aussi belle manière». Selon le président sortant, «la volonté avait été que je prolonge un mandat de plus, mais je pense qu’il faut renouveler les énergies, les équipes. Et donner un nouveau challenge à de nouvelles compétences. Je pars rassuré et confiant dans l’esprit que l’Upf atteindra encore des sommets». Avant d’ajouter ceci : «Je pense que cette équipe va insuffler une nouvelle énergie. Nous sommes rassurés de placer l’Upf entre des mains aussi crédibles et aussi respectées à travers le monde. Mon statut de président international me donne l’honneur et le privilège de siéger au Comité international et c’est déjà une façon d’accompagner l’équipe.»
