Le mouvement Culture Bi Nak a été initié par le musicien et compositeur, Baba Hamdy, et fédère plusieurs associations de femmes, de journalistes, d’artistes, d’artisans, de peintres, d’animateurs, de danseurs et d’architectes…qui évoluent dans le domaine culturel. En conférence de presse ce vendredi, Baba Hamdy, les membres de ce mouvement ont décidé de soutenir la Coalition Benno Bokk yakaar (Bby), en vue des prochaines élections législatives.
Baba Hamdy souligne que pour faire de la culture un levier de développement, il faut être bien représenté au niveau des différentes instances de décision. «Par mesure de prudence, on s’est dit que deux personnes ne peuvent pas régler les problèmes du monde de la culture. Il faut une groupe parlementaire», a-t-il justifié pour défendre leur choix qui va certainement, dit-il, porter des fruits. Lesquels ? : augmenter le budget de la culture, voter des lois et contrôler l’action du gouvernement et apporter des changements au niveau de la culture. Baba Hamdy et Cie ne veulent plus être à la marge des préoccupations des politiques.
D’après le musicien, les membres du mouvement ont eu à s’entretenir avec plusieurs entités politiques, avant de décider de faire alliance avec Aminata Touré, tête de liste de la Coalition Benno bokk yaakaar (Bby), qui a pu lire et comprendre leur programme et a accepté de travailler avec eux. Il indique que le programme de cette dernière est le plus proche des attentes des artistes. Raison pour laquelle, dit-il, le mouvement Culture Bi Nak a décidé de l’accompagner dans sa quête de majorité à l’Assemblée nationale.
Disséminés au niveau des 14 régions et 46 départements du Sénégal, les membres de Culture Bi nak affirment haut et fort qu’ils peuvent participer à renverser la tendance au soir du 31 juillet. «Culture bi nak détient effectivement plus de 10% de l’électorat fiable de ce pays», défend Baba Hamdy qui avait à ses côté, Mody Fall plus connu sous son nom d’artiste, Tonton Sène, Mohamed Touré alias Grand Laye, entre autres ténors du monde de la culture. Conscients de leur force, selon Baba Hamdy, les membres du mouvement sont ouverts et disposés à faire bouger les choses car, dit-il, «la culture reste et demeure une force incontournable.
La culture est le soubassement du développement». Convaincu également que pour faire de la culture un vecteurde développement, il faut forcément combiner la culture, l’artisanat et le tourisme, Baba Hamdy de rappeler qu’au cours de ses investigations, il a pu se rendre compte que «malheureusement» pour la grande majorité des Sénégalais, la culture se limite à la danse et au chant. «Ce qui est infime par rapport à l’existence des 126 corps de métier qui constituent la culture», a-t-il fait savoir en précisant qu’ils veulent tirer leur épingle du jeu et vivre des fruits de leur travail.
«Nous tendons la main à tous ceux qui sont intéressés par notre démarche», a lancé Baba Hamdy qui se dit déçu par le discours de certains hommes politiques nés après les indépendances.
Le programme de Culture bi nak en vue des prochaines élections législatives va sembler assez bizarre, d’après Baba Hamdy, mais ceci, explique-t-il, est valable tant pour les acteurs politiques que pour le reste de la population sénégalaise et de la diaspora. «Nous ne sommes pas contre le gouvernement et encore moins contre l’opposition. Mais il faut garder à l’esprit que ce qui nous intéresse avant toute chose, c’est la sauvegarde et la défense de nos intérêts. Nous entendons par là les intérêts de tous les acteurs culturels», développe Baba Hamdy.
Il faut noter que le mouvement a pu se procurer sans grande peine, d’après Baba Hamdy, des milliers deparrainages mais a tenu à cacher son jeu jusqu’à la dernière minute. Une façon, conclut-il, de tendre encore la main à tous les acteurs politiques du pouvoir comme de l’opposition.
