L’Université virtuelle du Sénégal (UVS) abrite jusqu’au 21 juin 2022, à l’Espace numérique ouvert (ENO) de Dakar, une exposition officielle “IN” de la 14ème édition de la Biennale de l’Art africain contemporain de Dakar. Des étudiants de l’UVS ont exposé autour du thème de l’ubiquité en “OFF”. Le vernissage de l’exposition a eu lieu le vendredi 10 juin 2022. En marge de l’exposition, le personnel de l’Université a procédé à la remise des prix des gagnants du jeu concours autour du logo de l’institution.
« L’UVS regorge de talents et souvent, ce sont des talents cachés. Cette opportunité qu’on leur a offerte leur a permis de s’extérioriser et de donner un avant-goût de leur capacité parce que ce sont encore des étudiants, ils ont encore beaucoup à apprendre », a déclaré Pr Moussa Lo, Coordonnateur de l’Université virtuelle du Sénégal (UVS).
Il magnifie le potentiel des artistes. « C’est l’occasion de féliciter ceux qui les encadrent au quotidien. Ils sont tous les jours derrière ces étudiants, mais aussi les enseignants et toute la communauté qui l’accompagne. Parce que l’UVS, c’est ça aussi la force, c’est que tout le monde est derrière la pédagogie. Je voudrais également féliciter tout le monde et féliciter ceux qui ont participé à cette exposition. C’est un processus et il y a beaucoup de choses qui ont été faites en amont pour en arriver là », a dit le Coordonnateur de l’UVS.
Massamba Mbaye a pour sa part présenté le thème de l’ubiquité. « Le projet de l’ubiquité est issu au cours d’une discussion. On a évoqué la possibilité pour la biennale 2020 qui était donc une biennale anniversaire et de proposer des cours pour l’Université virtuelle du Sénégal. Et je sentais qu’il y avait des talents cachés et c’était un moyen approprié de les aider », a fait savoir l’enseignant-chercheur et Responsable de la formation Communication digitale-UVS.
À l’en croire, le thème l’ubiquité renvoie à deux modalités. « L’ubiquité, c’est la possibilité d’être partout en même temps étymologiquement et ça renvoie à deux aspects fondamentaux. Le premier aspect, c’est l’imagination et l’imaginaire, c’est-à-dire la capacité de l’imagination d’être ici, d’être ailleurs parfois d’être partout en même temps. Parce que le propre de la liberté, de la créativité a recours à cette imagination et la projection dans un tableau ».
D’après lui, le deuxième aspect revoie à des données technologiques. « Des références technologiques qui permettent d’asseoir une capacité d’être ici et ailleurs », a-t-il souligné.
Dans la foulée, Aboubekr Thiam, qui a eu à encadrer les étudiants-artistes, a présenté les œuvres lors de la visite guidée à la galerie de l’UVS. Des œuvres comme « Jambaari guethie », « les harmonies chromatiques » « marouflage » et « nature morte » sont mis en exergue par les étudiants avec une parfaite maîtrise.
