Le scénario des élections locales semble se reproduire au sein de la coalition Yewwi Askan Wi. A travers un communiqué, des chefs de parti expriment leur amertume. Au nombre de 7, ils déclarent avoir constaté « encore une fois, la répétition de décisions unilatérales et fractionnistes ». Des prises de décision qui, selon eux, entraînent Yewwi Askan Wi « dans le déni de démocratie, le manque de respect, l’absence de transparence, le refus de rendre compte et la persistance d’un esprit dictatorial, contraire à l’esprit et aux engagements inscrits en lettres d’or dans notre charte ».
Parmi les signataires dudit communiqué, figurent le nom de l’ancienne ministre Aminata Lô Dieng et celui de Cheikh Bamba Dièye, ancien maire de Saint-Louis. Cette fois, l’origine du problème réside dans le fait que, selon eux, « quelques leaders dans Yewwi Askan Wi ont décidé d’exclure » l’image de certains d’entre eux, « dans les supports de communication ».
Un acte qui « sonne comme une énième tentative de (les) exclure de Yewwi, malgré le fait que nous ayons partout proclamé notre appartenance à la coalition », dénoncent-ils. Allant plus loin, ces leaders qualifient cette démarche, “d’injuste, de clientéliste, d’enfantine et de grotesque”, inscrite dans un « esprit rancunier et fractionniste ».
Ces actes, insistent-t-ils, leur donnent raison lorsqu’ils vilipendaient « les pratiques mesquines et moyenâgeuses qui ont fini de miner tout le crédit et l’esprit chevaleresque de Yewwi ».
Ils rappellent toutefois, « aux Sénégalais et aux millions de citoyens épris de justice, de démocratie et de rupture », leur fidélité à leurs « engagements » et demandent à leurs « militants, de continuer le combat et de travailler pour le triomphe de leur idéal démocratique ».
