Le sculpteur sénégalais Ousmane Guèye, après avoir passé plus de quarante années entre le Japon, la France et les États-Unis d’Amérique, est de retour au bercail. Lors d’une exposition intitulée « Le grand Retour de Ousmane Guèye » où il a étalé tout son savoir-faire, il a relaté son voyage. « Une connaissance assez approfondie de l’art contemporain africain, de l’art en général, la permaculture…. Qui vient à son heure. Il y a aussi le travail sur les mines que je compte partager avec la future génération. Je veux parler aux jeunes et participer au développement culturel et touristique de notre pays », a-t-il indiqué.
« Il y a eu beaucoup de visites. Vous savez, l’organisation d’une Biennale internationale des arts prend beaucoup d’énergie. Il y a beaucoup d’artistes qui sont là pour y prendre part et il y a aussi les artistes invités venant des États-Unis et d’Europe. Alors on doit refaire les statistiques de l’itinéraire de la Biennale pour regrouper les artistes, pour offrir des facilités dans une seule région. Le Sénégal est très vaste parce que si vous voulez parcourir en une semaine le Sénégal, c’est un peu difficile. C’est peut-être possible avec les Sénégalais, mais pour quatre jours, les venants de la France, du Japon ou ailleurs, il faudrait regrouper la Biennale et la réorganiser. Je donne mon point de vue tout simplement… Moi je propose que l’État du Sénégal trouve des solutions », a-t-il soulevé.
La Biennale de Dakar plus connue sous le nom de Dak’Art est l’une des plus grandes manifestations de l’art contemporain qui réunit les artistes vivant sur et hors du continent. Toujours dans sa logique de réformer l’école des Beaux Arts et booster le talent des artistes, il ajoute : « Nous sommes dans une sorte de manque qui fait que des secteurs sont complètement fermés. Il faut une vraie école nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts. Il y a le côté manuel, là on pourrait former les jeunes sur plusieurs aspects de l’Art… », a-t-il plaidé.
