Dangote Cement, le groupe cimentier du milliardaire nigérian Aliko Dangote, considéré comme le plus grand producteur de ciment d’Afrique subsaharienne, annonce un bénéfice de 172 milliards de nairas ( 410,7 millions de dollars), au terme des six premiers mois d’activité de l’année 2022.
Comparativement à la même période en 2021, ce résultat affiche une baisse de 10,2%, expliquée principalement par “les pertes de change”.
A fin juin, Dangote Cement qui mène des opérations dans 10 pays africains a vu son chiffre d’affaires s’établir à 808 milliards de nairas, soit 1,93 milliard de dollars ou encore 1,237 milliards FCFA, en progression de 17% en rythme annuel, en dépit des ventes globales qui ont replié de 7% à 14,2 millions de tonnes sur la période.
Dans le détail, le Nigéria où se trouve les plus importantes opérations de Dangote Cement a vendu 9,34 millions de tonnes de ciment (-4,8%). Tandis que les opérations au Cameroun, Congo, Ghana, Sénégal, Ethiopie, Tanzanie, Afrique du Sud, Zambie ainsi que Sierra Léone, ont affiché un volume de vente de 4,9 millions de tonnes de ciment au premier semestre 2022, en recul de 11%.
Quant à l’EBITDA (rapport EBITDA/Chiffre d’affaires), elle est ressortie à 46,2%, ce qui veut dire que l’activité réelle du groupe a dégagé une marge de 46,2% à fin juin 2022.
Revendiquant une capacité totale de 51,6 millions de tonnes de ciment par an, Dangote Cement a actuellement des projets d’implantation d’usine de broyage de ciment au Ghana et en Côte d’Ivoire.
A Accra, cette nouvelle unité viendra renforcer l’activité du groupe nigérian qui dispose déjà d’une usine d’importation et d’ensachage de 1,5 million de tonnes du ciment en vrac par an destinée au marché domestique.
A Abidjan, la construction de l’unité de ciment de Dangote Cement est déjà en cours. Ayant nécessité un investissement de 150 milliards FCfa, cette infrastructure aura une capacité de 3 millions de tonnes de ciment par an.
