Le Directeur Général de Petrosen T&S, Manar Sall, a confirmé que les dates de démarrage de l’exploitation du gaz et du pétrole au Sénégal sont maintenues. Le premier mètre cube de gaz est prévu pour la fin de l’année 2024, tandis que la production de pétrole est attendue au cours du premier semestre de cette année.
Manar Sall a souligné l’importance de la valorisation qui accompagne l’exploitation de ces ressources. Selon lui, « on est toujours dans les temps » et le projet permettra de valoriser le gaz au niveau local, ce qui est crucial pour l’industrialisation et la création de contenu local.
Cette valorisation inclut notamment la construction d’une usine qui générera des milliers d’emplois, un avantage significatif pour le Sénégal.
Selon le DG Sall, l’entrée dans l’ère pétrolière et gazière est vue comme une opportunité majeure, non seulement pour les revenus potentiels tirés de la vente de ces ressources naturelles, mais aussi pour les avantages économiques plus larges qu’elle apportera au pays.
