Leurs œuvres ont été exposées en off de la Biennale de Dakar et mettent en exergue deux modèles de ville sénégalaise. Sunu Dekk réalisée par Daouda Bâ et Maodo Niang qui fait partie de la collection de la maison Eiffage Sénégal a marqué les esprits.
Artiste soucieux de l’environnement, Douada Bâ utilise des matériaux recyclés dans les bidonvilles, s’inspire de leur vieillissement et leurs qualités discordantes. Il fait ainsi un focus répétitif sur les discordances architecturales, une plainte sur la tristesse de l’exploitation urbaine. Dans sa réalisation, on décèle la nostalgie d’une simplicité rêvée où les baraques ne sont pas signe de pauvreté, mais de richesse spirituelle.
Maodo Niang, quant à lui, présente dans cette exposition, un modèle réduit de la ville. Un travail étonnant par la précision des détails et la maîtrise dans l’utilisation de matériaux simples. La netteté des espaces et la couleur uniformément grise attirent l’attention.
