Madame le ministre des affaires étrangères,
L’ambassade d’Égypte à Dakar a refusé d’instruire des dossiers de demande de visa de notre délégation sportive qui devait se rendre au Caire pour le tournoi qualificatif à la coupe du Monde de basket-ball.
De ce que l’on en sait, après avoir reçu les dossiers, l’ambassade qui les a gardé a finalement décidé de les restituer. Ni plus ni moins ! La FSBB a été obligée par la suite de se faire délivrer un visa électronique qui lui a permis d’embarquer mais qui lui a coûté plus de 24 heures de villégiatures dans les Halls de l’aéroport d’Istanbul où des joueurs, portant le maillot et les couleurs du Sénégal, ont dormi à même le sol. Notre drapeau national a ainsi servi de serpillère.
Résultat de ces manœuvres indignes d’un grand pays comme l’Égypte, nos Lions ont été sévèrement corrigés (76-43) par l’équipe d’Égypte. Grand bien leur fasse ! En sport tricher pour gagner ne confère pas de gloire mais juste de petite gloriole.

Depuis cet incident nous n’avons eu vent d’aucun acte émanant de votre ministère qui a entre autre comme mission de veiller sur la fierté nationale des enfants de la République. Pas de courrier, ni d’invitation de l’ambassadeur à une explication, ni une convocation….rien !
Madame le ministre, entre autres, vous êtes en charge de notre sécurité..de celle de tous les sénégalais entretenant une quelconque relation avec l’international. Pour moins que ça, des ambassadeurs ont été convoqués ou des lettres de protestation servies.
L’idée c’est de nous faire respecter, d’exiger de l’autre partie qu’elle se conforme aux règles qui guident aux relations diplomatiques, de rassurer les compatriotes que pareil pied de nez ne se reproduira, mais surtout de faire comprendre à la partie Égyptienne que notre représentation diplomatique pourra et s’obligera à leur rendre la pareil s’il ne fournissent pas dexications à ce cassus balli ou ne s’excusent officiellement.
Le Sénégal et l’Égypte entretiennent de bons rapports. Des milliers de sénégalais vivent et étudient en Égypte. Nous sommes tous les deux des pays de la même Ummah et surtout Al Sissy et Sall semblent s’apprécier.
Pour autant, même si Salah n’est pas doublement content que Mané l’ait battu à la CAN et empêché d’aller à la coupe du monde de football, l’ambassade d’Égypte à Dakar ne peut manquer autant de respect à Gorgui Dieng et compagnie.
Alors Madame, rendez-nous notre fierté. Faites ce qui se conçoit dans pareil cas.
