Google a lancé une nouvelle expérience de laboratoire de recherche appelée “Notes”. Ces annotations permettent aux internautes d’écrire leurs propres notes sur une liste de résultats de recherche spécifique et dans Google Discover et de les partager avec d’autres utilisateurs.
Dans le but de faire apparaître un contenu plus authentiquement humain dans le moteur de recherche, Google expérimente un moyen rapide de créer et de lire des “notes” contenant des « conseils utiles sur un article ou un sujet, fournis par des experts et des personnes ordinaires ». Elles s’ajoutent donc aux nouveaux contenus récemment déployés par Google sur sa page d’accueil.
Concrètement, Google lance deux nouvelles fonctionnalités, l’une permettant de personnaliser les résultats de recherche des utilisateurs et de “suivre” les sujets qui les intéressent, tout en faisant apparaître les pages web d’une nouvelle manière. Une autre initiative, plus expérimentale, transformera Google en un espace collaboratif où les utilisateurs pourront annoter des pages web avec leurs propres notes, qui pourront être consultées par n’importe qui d’autre sur le web.

Si vous optez pour la fonctionnalité Notes, des boutons permettant d’ajouter et de consulter des notes apparaîtront sous les résultats de recherche et sous les articles de Discover dans l’application Google. Lorsque vous créez une note, vous pouvez ajouter des polices et des images colorées. Lorsque vous cliquez sur “Afficher les notes”, vous accédez à une page qui vous présente une liste des notes disponibles, classées selon un algorithme de classement de Google, afin de vous présenter d’abord les notes les plus utiles.
Google précise que certains sites web ne proposeront pas de notes, notamment ceux qui portent sur des requêtes sensibles ou pour lesquels il est essentiel de disposer d’informations fiables. En outre, chaque note sera soumise à un système de classification qui tentera de déterminer si son contenu est susceptible d’enfreindre les règles de Google. Si c’est le cas, la note sera signalée pour examen humain avant d’être publiée.
Heureusement, puisqu’on imagine que la modération d’une telle fonctionnalité sera un véritable cauchemar pour Google, les utilisateurs pourront également signaler des notes pour examen et lorsque des notes sont supprimées, les auteurs peuvent demander un recours s’ils pensent que la note a été retirée par erreur.
