Après l’entreprise Dangote qui avait arrêté ses activités et mis tous ses employés en congés en juin dernier, c’est au tour de la cimenterie SOCOCIM de mettre sa production à l’arrêt. Condamnant de fait ses employés, ses prestataires et ses fournisseurs à suspendre leurs activités.
Cette décision extraordinaire fait suite à la tenue du Conseil de la Consommation mardi dernier sans qu’aucune décision n’ait été prise pour sortir le secteur cimentier de la crise et menace de faillite.
En effet, l’Etat a bloqué les prix alors que les prix des matières premières (charbon, clinker, emballage, gypse, pièces de rechanges) ont flambé de plus de 200% dans certains cas et ce depuis des semaines, voire des mois.
Avec la fermeture de la SOCOCIM, ce sont 10.000 tonnes de ciment en moins sur le marché chaque jour. La situation prive les Sénégalais de près de 60% du ciment habituellement disponible sur le territoire national.
Le risque est une flambée du prix du ciment et la menace d’inflation.
