«Plusieurs périmètres agricoles sont actuellement abandonnés car il n’y reste plus que des tiges. Par exemple, toutes les feuilles des cultures de niébé, d’arachide … ont été dévorées», a confié Ousmane Tall, un paysan habitant le village de Mélakh, à seneweb. Interpellé sur la situation, le chef du service de la protection des végétaux (DPV) fait savoir que des équipes sont actuellement à l’assaut de ces prédateurs pour sauver les cultures. Yakhya Sy de révéler que la situation est maîtrisée car tous les champs infestés par ces vers sont désinfectés.
