La campagne agricole est « maintenant bien » lancée, a annoncé le Ministre de l’Agriculture et de l’Equipement rural, Pr Moussa Baldé. Dans un entretien avec Le soleil, il assure qu’en ce qui concerne le premier intrant, à savoir la pluie, on peut dire qu’il est au rendez-vous. En effet, dit-il, tous les postes présentent des cumuls doubles, voire triples, comparé à l’hivernage dernier. Par exemple, nous sommes déjà à 924 mm au Cap Skirring contre seulement 381 mm l’hivernage passé. On retrouve les mêmes tendances au centre et au nord du pays, à quelques exceptions près.
S’agissant des semences le MAER indique qu’ils ont augmenté, de façon substantielle, celles de maïs et de riz tout en maintenant les mêmes niveaux de mise en place pour les autres spéculations.
Quant à l’engrais, malgré une hausse fulgurante des prix, précise Moussa Baldé, « nous avons pu, avec la rallonge budgétaire de 10 milliards de FCa et des mécanismes d’optimisation, atteindre le même niveau de mise en place que les années précédentes tout en maintenant un prix de cession supportable pour le producteur ».
Pour le Ministre de l’Agriculture et de l’Équipement, cette bonne pluviométrie est de bon augure. Avec les dispositions prises en amont par ses services, le Pr Moussa Baldé pense qu’on est parti pour une bonne campagne agricole.
