Développée par une jeune pousse sénégalaise, la solution digitale Mapauto fait partie des plateformes qui sortent du lot. Lancée en 2020 par Mapenda Diop, un serial tech entrepreneur sénégalais, elle permet de réserver des voitures avec chauffeur pour des courses dans les grandes villes sénégalaises.
Selon le patron d’Expat Dakar qui s’est confié à nos confrère de “We are tech.africa ” « pour un simple trajet dans Dakar, il est difficile d’avoir un véhicule avec chauffeur respectant les standards internationaux à un tarif compétitif. Pour répondre à cette problématique, j’ai décidé, avec une équipe composée exclusivement de jeunes talents locaux, de développer une solution digitale de réservation de véhicules avec chauffeur ».
La jeune pousse sénégalaise qui ambitionne d’étendre ses services dans la sous-région puis à l’échelle continentale et d’ici 2026, prévoit la création de plus d’un millier d’emplois propose des services de transport depuis l’aéroport vers les quartiers de la capitale Dakar, de location journalière ou encore de trajet unique. En fonction des besoins du client, il choisit le service qui lui correspond le mieux.
La start-up, grâce au tracking, connaît la position en temps réel de toutes les voitures de la flotte. C’est également grâce à cette fonction que le client connaît le temps d’attente lorsqu’il commande un véhicule, l’identité du chauffeur, le prix de la course après avoir entré les données nécessaires (lieu de départ, destination), etc. Quant à la flotte, elle est la propriété de la start-up avec des véhicules de tout type, allant de la berline Peugeot 508 à la prestigieuse Maserati Levante.
