Une pirogue de fortune venant du Sénégal a atteint, ce lundi, les côtes espagnoles. L’annonce est du directeur de la police de l’air et des frontières, Mame Seydou Ndour lors d’un séminaire sur la coopération judiciaire et policière en matière de lutte contre le trafic de migrants et la traite des personnes.
« Une pirogue est arrivée hier en Espagne, avec 69 individus. Elle est partie des côtes sénégalaises, une situation qui montre l’ampleur de la tâche (surveillance des frontières) et la détermination des trafiquants à n’importe quel prix », a-t-il dit à l’Agence de presse sénégalaise.
Selon lui, il est important de faire preuve de « la même détermination pour contrer » le trafic de migrants et la traite des personnes.
Mame Seydou Ndour invite ainsi à une coopération entre les services des états concernés par la migration irrégulière. Le directeur de la police de l’air et des frontières appelle à une collaboration régionale judiciaire et policière. Cette coopération vise à faciliter des poursuites contre les auteurs.
La Côte d’Ivoire, l’Espagne, la France, la Gambie, la Guinée, la Mauritanie, le Niger, le Sénégal et l’Union européenne participent cette rencontre.
