La réunion hebdomadaire du Gouvernement s’est tenue ce mercredi sous la présidence de Bassirou Diomaye Faye. Dans sa communication au Conseil, le chef de l’Etat a mis l’accent sur la protection de l’environnement.
Sur cette lancée, le chef de l’Etat a invité le Gouvernement à vulgariser la nouvelle politique du Sénégal en matière d’environnement, de développement durable et de transition écologique découlant du PROJET.
Evoquant la célébration de la Journée mondiale de l’environnement prévue le 05 juin 2024, le Chef de l’Etat a demandé au Ministre de l’Environnement et de la Transition écologique de veiller, en relation avec les Forces de Défense et de Sécurité et les services compétents de l’Etat, à la préservation et à la gestion optimale des ressources naturelles forestières et de la biodiversité.
Il également invité le Ministre en charge de l’Environnement à accorder une attention particulière à la gestion du Parc national du Niokolo-Koba soulignant que la même priorité doit être accordée à la modernisation de l’organisation et du fonctionnement de la Direction des Eaux et Forêts, Chasses et Conservation des Sols et de la Direction des Parcs nationaux.
Bassirou Diomaye Faye, a demandé, au ministre en charge de l’Environnement, de travailler avec les Ministres en charge de l’Urbanisme, des Collectivités territoriales et de l’Assainissement, à l’amélioration de l’aménagement paysager des communes et axes routiers, du système de gestion des déchets solides urbains, ainsi que des réseaux d’assainissement.
