Avec la fin de la première phase du projet gazier Grand Tortue/Ahmeyin (GTA), entre le Sénégal et la Mauritanie, 2000 travailleurs se sont retrouvés au chômage. Ces derniers ont assuré la fabrication et l’installation des 21 caissons du projet de BP et Kosmos énergies. Ils étaient employés par le sous-traitant Eiffage Marine.
D’après Source A, qui donne l’information dans son édition de ce vendredi, dans le lot des agents au chômage, il y a des prestataires et des contractuels; des expatriés et des Sénégalais.
Le journal rapporte que chacun a reçu l’équivalent de 7% des salaires qu’il a perçus durant les deux années qu’a duré leur contrat. Les congés ont été également réglés. Ce qui fait un belle somme pour les gros salaires, essentiellement des expatriés, et des miettes pour les agents au bas de l’échelle, composés en majorité de Sénégalais.
