Gana Guèye (34 ans) est de toutes les joutes internationales auxquelles le Sénégal a pris part, depuis les Jeux olympiques de 2012. Outre les JO de Londres, le milieu de terrain a joué les CAN 2015, 2017, 2019, 2021 et 2023 et les Coupes du monde Russie-2018 et Qatar-2022.
Toutefois, c’est lors de la dernière CAN 2023 en Côte d’Ivoire que le doyen de la Tanière (110 sélections) démarre pour la première fois une compétition avec les Lions sur le banc. Le n°5 des Lions et champion d’Afrique 2021 n’aura joué que 69 minutes en 3 apparitions, toutes comme remplaçant.
