Député de la 14e législature, Cheikh Thioro Mbacké est préoccupé par la situation que vivent les Sénégalais résidents aux Philippines. Il a dernièrement adressé une lettre au ministre des Affaires étrangères pour lui soumettre les difficultés auxquelles sont confrontés ces compatriotes. A l’en croire, au-delà du fait qu’il n’y a pas d’ambassade dans ce pays d’Asie, beaucoup de Sénégalais, ont perdu leur travail ou n’ont pas pu renouveler leurs papiers à cause de la pandémie du Covid-19 et des restrictions.
Une occasion pour le député de demander au ministre des Affaires étrangères de prendre en charge ces Sénégalais de l’extérieur qui ne demandent qu’à avoir leurs papiers pouvoir travailler et retrouver leurs familles. Il a par ailleurs rappelé que les services du ministre Aïssata Tall Sall, qui officient en Malaisie, ont essayé de joindre ces Sénégalais résidant aux Philippines afin de renouveler leurs papiers (passeports). Malheureusement, pour des raisons financières et de timing, cela n’a pas finalement abouti.
